How to Find the Will to Win

How many times have you tried to be successful at something?

Have you ever found yourself lacking in the motivation department?

You are not alone because in this day and age, a lot of people have difficulty becoming motivated.

There is an even bigger group of people who find themselves unable to stay motivated.

Motivation is one of those nebulous terms that we throw out so often that we often take it for granted.

Part of the difficulty may lie with not knowing what motivation actually is.

I’ll make it simple.

how to find the will to win

That’s it.

How bad do you want to win?

What are you willing to do to succeed?

I have been on the self-improvement/success side of the inter-web for years now. I have the unique position of having been on both sides of the screen as both a consumer and producer of content that helps people become successful.

In my experience, there are three levels of motivation that people can find themselves in. They are as follows:

1) Zero Motivation

This is when you have no drive whatsoever in life. You see all this opportunity to grow and succeed and it does absolutely nothing to fire you up.

It all flies right over your head and you just keep operating according to your same failure-oriented programming.

In fact, you might not even be conscious of an existence beyond that which you have become accustomed to.

You may “do some research” but there is zero execution.

2) Motivation… that fizzles out early on

A lot of people fall into this category. They get all fired up about something.

This applies towards the beginning of positive programming (new workout program, weight loss, new business, etc) or the end of negative programming (smoking, panic fapping, too many sweets, etc).

In the beginning, their motivation is at an all-time high and they take action.

They do everything right and execute beautifully.

But then they fizzle out shortly after. They revert to their default programming.

3) Motivation… that lasts forever

This is the highest level of motivation- the flame that burns forever.

This is what happens when you decide to evolve and never look back. All you do is move forward.

I’ll admit that this can be a difficult state to achieve because it’s hard to keep that flame burning.

But I believe I have found the secret to living out the rest of your days in this third state of motivation.

Don’t make it about yourself.

In other words, be selfless in your quest for success. Let those closest to you in real life be your reason for doing what you do.

Let them be your why.

That’s one of life’s many hidden secrets.

Mentally, you can’t make it about yourself because when you do that, it becomes a safety net of sorts.

“I’m only letting myself down. No big deal.”

When you operate with that mentality, you set yourself up for failure because you make failure an option.

But what if you started putting others in your life before you?

Could you really let yourself fail if you made it about your parents/friends/significant other/children? NO WAY IN HELL.

Let those who matter the most to you be your driving force.

You do that and you’ll find yourself winning more than you could have ever imagined.
