I’ve been working out and have been a student of bodybuilding for nearly 10 years. Since June 2006, I have tried every split and muscle building routine you can imagine.
I’ve also read countless websites and magazine articles that supposedly give expert advice on bodybuilding. To this day, there are only 3 bodybuilding books I have read that I strongly recommend to anyone who is starting out in the iron game:
1. The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by: Arnold Schwarzenegger- This was the first book I read on bodybuilding. This book has it all. Mindset. Exercises. Training philosophy. Nutrition.
2. Get Serious by: Dr. Brett Osborn- I read this book this past summer and was amazed at how much more there is to learn regarding training, nutrition, and anti-aging. This book covers it all and I love how it breaks down the healthy lifestyle to an exact science. It was written by Dr. Brett Osborn, a neurosurgeon who clearly practices what he preaches. He is also part of the winning team (along with Jay) that runs the SOAR Seminars, the most complete anti-aging seminar in the world.
3. The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual by: Jay Campbell- I’ve already read this book twice. It is written by Jay Campbell of Fab Fit Over 40. And it is the most complete resource on testosterone replacement therapy. I’ve talked with Jay many times about this book. We even did a podcast on it during it’s early stages of development.
Before I give you guys my full review on Jay’s book. I just want to remind you (and inform you newcomers) of who Jay is. I clearly know what I’m doing when it comes to bodybuilding. I’ve been doing this for nearly 10 years and you see what I look like. But I don’t have all the answers. I often have questions myself. Jay is my go-to-guy when it comes to new ideas for training.
New training splits. Training intensity. Form and rep tempo. Diet. At one point or another, I’ve asked for Jay’s input on it all and he always steers me in the right direction. He’s the reason why this summer’s prep was my easiest prep to date, with the least amount of toll on my body.

The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual is a masterpiece. My numerous writing courses I took in college taught me the importance of structure and organization in your writing. Structurally, it has to make sense. It has to flow. Most importantly, your writing must have purpose.
The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual fulfills all of that (and much more). Jay did an excellent job at starting off his book on the right foot. He identifies one big, overarching problem that impacts men of all ages.
However, there is hope… And that hope comes in the form of testosterone replacement therapy.
As Jay explains in his book, testosterone for a man is EVERYTHING. A man with little to no testosterone is not a man. He’s essentially a girl. That’s reality.
Gone are the days when men were men and could do useful manly shit. Now, spend a day in public and look at your average “man”.
Your average “man” today has no muscle mass, is lethargic, lacks competitive instinct, and has very feminine features. There is also an alarming number of straight males that have feminine voices and talk with that annoying queer lisp. Again, this isn’t guido logic… it’s reality.
Jay does a great job of giving you the facts. A man with high optimal blood testosterone levels is empowered because he enjoys the following:

- Increased muscle mass

This is not a steroid bible pieced together by some gym bros. This book is cutting edge stuff. It’s based off of decades of research by a highly qualified expert and is backed by medical expertise. This is a far cry from scoring clen from your bros at school and them telling you to just “eyeball it.”
