Put In Work
What’s up guys sorry I haven’t been around… I have been slammed with clients for my consulting programs.
I also moved to Las Vegas.
I’ll admit I’ve been living it up in Vegas, but now it’s back to work.
To get back in the swing of things I wanted to share my Summer 2015 Playlist with you guys.
Summer is my favorite time of year. It’s when I look my best. It’s when I feel my best. It’s when I’m pumped the fuck up.
I’ve made it no secret that music helps me out in a big way.
This playlist has motivated me to absolutely kill it as I begin my new life here and take Strength By Sonny to greater heights.
Some Brief Thoughts- This is my first playlist that doesn’t feature mostly rap. A lot of these are old school joints… The classics never die. Nothing will ever replace the real deal.
I also included some briefs notes on each song (and what it means to me).
Here it is:
1) Bon Jovi- You Give Love a Bad Name
0:07- That guitar intro… The king has returned.
2) Ratt- Way Cool Jr.
This shit reminds me of my uncle. Total 80’s badass motherfucker. Muscle cars. Copenhagen Tobacco. And joints like this blasting.
3) KISS- Love Gun
Awesome road trip joint. These guys are legends for a reason.
4) A$AP Ferg- Work Remix
This is whole song is chock full of lines.
5) Survivor- Eye of the Tiger
It’s a classic. You can’t deny that.
6) Otherwise- Darker Side of the Moon
2:09- Fuckin’ epic!
7) The Game- Better on the Other Side
“Let me take you back to 85’ when I was in the zone/dancin’ for my momma/Thriller jacket with the zippers on.”
Game smoked that verse.
8) Bryan Adams- Heaven
Reflective road trip music song.
9) Ja Rule- Story to Tell
Ja Rule is known as a softee but he murders this track. This is a classic old school NY hip-hop beat.
10) Muse- Dead Inside
This might be the joint that sticks in my head throughout 2015. Song is straight silk to the ears.
11) Three Days Grace- Fallen Angel
Motivating music in the gym.
12) Three Days Grace- Never Too Late
Gym tunes all day everyday.
13) Rihanna- American Oxygen
I first heard this when I was driving in the middle of the night in Iowa. It was just the right moment on the Great Plains under the stars.
14) Eminem- Sing for the Moment
Eminem at his best in my opinion.
“That’s why we sing for these kids who don’t have a thing/Except for a dream in a fuckin’ rap magazine”
15) Journey- Faithfully
A fitting end to my journey (and beginning of a new one). This was the song playing on the radio as I pulled in to Las Vegas.
